Role Overview

We are looking for a Transport Scheduler to join one of our key Grocery sites at Morrisons Gadbrook on a part time basis. 

This is a part time position working 18 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours of work: 6:00am or 9:30am start with 9 hour shifts.

How will you contribute?

  • As a Transport Scheduler you will pay a key part in ensuring the daily scheduled transport plan is achieved economically and meeting all SLA targets
  • Ensuring all drivers receive their driver packs including delivery manifests, keys, fuel cards and maps to ensure the vehicle leave site and reaches its destination within SLA delivery targets
  • Manage backhaul collections
  • Ensure manufacturing collections arrive at site on time meeting delivery SLA targets
  • Answer queries from stores regarding delivery times and other general ad hoc requests
  • Maintain driver administration to ensure a full stock of paperwork is always available
  • Work closely with the warehouse teams to ensure the vehicles are loaded on time and the driver is ready to deliver to stores.
  • Escalate any vehicle defects to the Transport Management Team

What will you bring?

  • A knowledge of computerised scheduling and driver management packages such as Microlise would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively to all key stakeholders
  • The ability to remain calm and prioritise your workload in a busy pressurised environment
  • Be resilient when under pressure and able to react quickly
  • Good geographical knowledge
