Role Overview

An exciting opportunity for Continuous Improvement Manager Role has become available on the Weetabix contract in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire.  You will be responsible and accountable for Identifying and delivering improvement activity across the site through employing process improvement methodologies. Work with stakeholders and colleagues to build a continuous improvement environment and mind-set across the site. Lead and facilitate continuous improvement workshops to drive ideas and solutions. Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of waste and unnecessary complexity within our business - taking complex information and processes and making them simple.

How will you contribute?

  • Liaise with Leadership team in defining and developing improvement plans for critical business processes
  • Work closely with the customer to identify cost savings and manage the projects to their expectations.
  • Collect and conduct data analysis of current state performance working with leadership teams to understand key improvement opportunities
  • Train, deliver and transfer knowledge of the CI methods and thinking. Develop roadmaps and KPI tracking for business value streams.
  • Drive the implementation of robust, CI standards, Daily Management processes across each Value Stream and embed a culture of problem solving.
  • Implement and sustain improvements through Value Stream Analysis (VSA)
  • Lead improvement events including scoping, event planning, facilitation and action planning
  • Drive improvement actions and embed role within processes to ensure stable and sustainable processes
  • Drive a standardised and common approach to continuous process improvement across value streams
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Policy Deployment (PD) initiatives across CFC
  • Coach and mentor leadership and associates in tools such as Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) and Transactional Process Improvement (TPI)
  • Proactively drive use of ‘best CI practice”, learning from external businesses and perspectives
  • Identifies inter-dependencies between departments and/or processes and ensures process improvements enhance these
  • Train coach and support colleagues in their CI journey
  • To create and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement. 
  • A flexible approach to working hours will be required
  • Ensuring all Personnel policies and procedures are followed that enable Colleagues to be treated fairly and with respect in line with the Wincanton Principles.

What will you bring?

  • Experience in a similar process development or operational role, ideally in fast-paced industrial, logistics or production/manufacturing environment
  • Expertise in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools
  • Excellent Project Management skills Advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience in Project Management Software,
  • Experience in people leadership at least in indirect role
  • Knowledge of process automation techniques
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, Science or Logistics- desired not necessary
  • Business Acumen
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing direction.
  • Analytical with attention to detail
  • Will have an expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel
  • Always looking for ways to streamline reports and databases
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of customer relationship management
