About the role...

We have an excellent opportunity to recruit a full-time Assistant Accountant reporting into the Site Accountant at our Distribution Centre at Trentham Lakes, Stoke on Trent.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be part of the finance team on a fixed term 12 month basis.

What you'll be doing...

  • Produce and develop operational reports for the Customer
  • Produce site statistics, ratios and monitor KPIs
  • Analyse operational and financial data in order to explain trends and justify expenditure levels
  • Develop new reports to aide management as required
  • Support Projects and other capital expenditure
  • Assist in the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
  • Maintain resource database integrity
  • Time and Attendance, payroll data integrity and reporting
  • Collation and analysis of the site’s weekly labour utilisation by activity
  • Management of Finance Clerks and Receptionist
  • Cover for Finance Clerk duties, production of weekly accounts and statistics, payroll admin, balance sheet reconciliation and production of period end reports for both Screwfix and Wincanton. General team and events support.

About you...

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Experience with Oracle systems and Time & Attendance systems essential
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills necessary including creating complex formulae essential
  • Competent, conscientious, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Must be part qualified CIMA/ACCA with aim to complete studies
  • Supervisory experience essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access an advantage
  • Knowledge of Kronos Time &Attendance system an advantage
