Class 1 Day Drivers

PERMANENT ROLE - £32,198 per annum

Wincanton are looking to recruit Class 1 Drivers to join our 24-hour operation in Greenford, supporting our Screwfix contract.

Predominantly working Monday to Friday however weekend working will be required on occasions, starting between 0230 and 0430.

• £32,198 – annual salary
• £12.90 – hourly rate
• £19.35 – overtime rate for hours worked over 48
• 48 hours per week contract

Delivering to Screwfix stores throughout the South East with an average of 4 drops per day.  Unloading cages from the trailer and collecting empties.  This role involves relationship building with our customers and therefore Customer service is a key factor within this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring you are compliant with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive
• You will Adhere to Safe Working Practices
• You will commit to safe and efficient handling of vehicles – optimising fuel usage and taking responsibility for the cleanliness of vehicles
• You will also undertake other such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the Transport function or to support our customer
• Keep truck clean at all times

• Must hold a valid Class 1 licence
• Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
• Must hold a valid Digital Tachograph card
• Must have 6 points or less points on your licence
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience required
• Store delivery experience desirable
• We require all candidates to be smartly presented
• We require all candidates to demonstrate a flexible approach
• Previous experience in a customer facing role or customer service would be advantageous
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
