Role Overview

A vacancy has arisen for a Production Manager with Performance Packaging. The vacancy is based in Yeovil reporting to the Operations Manager.

Shift Pattern - anytime between 6 AM to 4 PM

How will you contribute?

  • You will be responsible for the daily management of the production floor
  • Managing the area workloads / resource allocation on a daily basis
  • Working to ensure raw materials are available as necessary to support manufacture
  • Ensuring all work meets with customers’ specifications and the required quality standard
  • Maintaining throughput in line with the contracted / internal KPI’s, taking pro-active corrective action where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a fully cross functional team which covers all areas of manufacturing
  • Prepare monthly reports on progress / opportunities to the management team
  • Participate in and encourage excellent communications between the team and other departments.
  • Promoting the Company’s Health & Safety procedures, housekeeping standards and Company’s policies at all times
  • Manage holiday in line with local requirements maintaining capacity

What will you bring?

  • The applicant must be flexible and willing to learn
  • Able to demonstrate a good all round knowledge of manufacturing preferably in a case making environment
  • Have an understanding of the need for attention to detail with a right first time approach
  • Can demonstrate good communication skills and possess good IT skills
  • Has the ability to prioritise and change with business needs as production demand dictates
  • Ideally possess a background of practical problem solving / continuous improvement
  • Be able to clearly demonstrate good leadership skills with a focus on staff development / customer focus.
  • Have a distinct ability / track record in setting clear goals and achieving them
  • Can demonstrate a genuine interest and understanding in maintaining a clean and safe working environment
