Role Profile

Wincanton are recruiting for a Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our team working on our Wickes contract in Bradford. 

This is a permanent position paying £12.08 per hour.

  • £24,500 per annum
  • Starting between 06:00 – 07:00
  • 39 hour week annualised
  • Rotational shift pattern between Monday and Saturday
  • HIAB training available

You will be delivering construction and home improvement products to customers using a HIAB to off load the products to small commercial units and residential properties around the area.

Due to the nature of this deliveries Town/City driving will be required.

What we expect from our drivers:

  • You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement of multidrop and direct delivery of our customer’s products.
  • Using HIAB or Moffet to unload products at destinations
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • A flexible approach to working start times as dictated by the needs of the business.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised.
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service.
  • Good communication skills and a flexible attitude to work.
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid HGV LGV Class 2 licence
  • Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
  • Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on your licence
  • Minimum 12 months Class 2 driving experience preferred; 6 months essential
  • HIAB training provided
  • Customer service experience is essential to the role
  • Customer facing awareness
  • Be flexible in relation to shifts and duties
