Role Profile

Due to contract expansion, Wincanton are looking for Class 2 Shunter/Fitter to join our award-winning IKEA team in Harlow, Essex.

  • Class 2 Shunter/Fitter
  • Working Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 05:00 - 05:30
  • Overtime for hours over 40 per week

You will be shunting vehicles between sites and completing running defects as required such as light bulbs, mirror cases and oil for our fleet of vehicles.

In this role you will:

  • Be flexible in your approach to work
  • Work efficiently to tight deadlines to ensure minor defects are dealt with prior to drivers leaving site
  • Be the shunt driver making daily visits to other sites including Tottenham and Thurrock
  • When on site to jet wash vehicles, shunt vehicles on site and repair any defects reported by delivery crews
  • It may be necessary to go out to crews on a breakdown for repairs that can be made on the road side such as battery issues
  • To conduct vehicle checks such as oil, tyres, add blue, walking round vehicles to check for any damage

Experience & Qualifications

  • You MUST hold a valid in date LGV HGV Class 2 licence
  • A trained fitter with a recognised qualification
  • You MUST hold a Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Full Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
  • You MUST have no more than 6 points on your licence
  • Previous customer service and commercial driving experience is desirable
  • Confident, engaging, polite and friendly
  • Understanding, calm, professional and a team player
  • Be able to provide a time critical delivery service and be competant in minor vehicle repairs
