Role Profile

Wincanton are recruiting LGV Class 1 Lorry Drivers to support on our Cormar Carpets contract in Portbury, Bristol.

  • £12.99 per hour
  • Sunday - Thursday
  • Start time 19:00
  • Overtime paid at time and a half (after 50 hours)
  • Permanent 50 hours a week contract

Flexible approach is needed as variations may be required by the operation and the customer. Duties will include trunking to Bury and back.

What to expect:

  • Accountable for monitoring own driving hours in line with legislation
  • To attend any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement
  • To be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety to Work Act
  • To report any accident or damage to any equipment or machinery
  • This role involves a considerable amount of manual handling and is physically demanding
  • Using the drawbar to remove stock from the truck

Experience and Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
  • Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on your licence
  • Minimum 6 months driving experience preferred.
  • Drawbar experience required.
  • Will possess a positive attitude to work, and the ability to work on their own initiative to specified deadlines
  • Will be punctual and committed to the role
  • DBS check will be undertaken
