Role Profile

Wincanton are recruiting a LGV Class 1 or 2 Shunter Tug Lorry Driver for our supply chain based out of the Procter & Gamble West Thurrock site.

You will be required to complete shunting work around the yard transporting various retail products.

  • £12.96 per hour
  • £18.33 per hour overtime rate
  • £25,272 per annum
  • Monthly shift pattern to include Days and Nights
  • Shift times between 06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00

A Class 1 licence is preferable, however not essential if you have Class 2 shunting experience

The Role

  • To shunt trailers around site
  • Applying safety equipment to trailers
  • Perform yard checks
  • Directing drivers to correct bays for loading
  • Trailer inspections, reporting defects
  • Site cleaning as and when required
  • To work within the guidelines of the company’s safety culture, ensuring the safety of themselves and their colleagues at all times.
  • Moving all trucks that come on site

Experience and Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence or a Class 2 licence
  • Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
  • Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on your licence
  • Previous experience using shunting vehicle is an advantage
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Flexible approach to hours of work
  • Able to perform in a team environment
  • Comfortable working for periods on your own
