Permanent Role - 37.5 Hours a week - £25,272.04 per annum Days and Night Shifts (includes shift allowance) 

We are looking for Tug Drivers to join our team based out of our site at West Thurrock.
 
The depot runs a 24/7 operation 

  • Day shifts start at 06:00 and finish at 18:00
  • Night shifts start at 18:00 and finish at 06:00
  • Contracted 37.5 hours on a 4 week cycle

The Role:

  • To work within the guidelines of the company’s safety culture, ensuring the safety of themselves and their colleagues at all times.
  • To shunt trailers and containers around the site and to offsite premises
  • Applying safety equipment to trailers
  • Perform yard checks
  • Directing drivers to correct bays for loading and tipping
  • Using the snow plough and salt gritter when required
  • Trailer inspections, reporting defects
  • Site cleaning as and when required
  • Curtain pulling and moving roof support bars at the West Site
  • To work within the guidelines of the company’s safety culture, ensuring the safety of themselves and their colleagues at all times.
  • To shunt trailers and containers around the site and to offsite premises
  • Moving all vehicles that come on site
    This is a physical role where you will be mounting and dismount trailers and will involve curtain pulling.

Experience and Qualifications

  • You must hold a valid in date Class 1 licence
  • You must hold a valid in date CPC licence
  • You must not have more than 6 points on your licence
  • Previous experience using shunting vehicle is an advantage
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Flexible approach to hours of work
  • Conscientious
  • Able to perform in a team environment
  • Able to display commitment
  • You will have a proactive and committed approach towards all aspects of the job and ensure high standards in health and safety, customer service and legal compliance are met and exceeded
