Role Profile

The role of a Warehouse Operative is to carry out Warehouse tasks as directed.  This will include picking / Container decanting / Loading / Counter Balance / Reach Truck and any other Warehouse duties deemed appropriate.

This is working a permanent night shift which is any 5 from 7 nights including weekends and bank holidays.

Main Duties:

  • Working in a team environment
  • Working in a safe manner,  adhering to site Health and Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work
  • Processing the necessary paperwork and performing Inventory related duties
  • To receive and put away stock and accurately maximise location utilisation
  • Operating IT Systems as required
  • To pick stock productively and accurately
  • Operation of Mechanical Handling Equipment
  • Checking of picked stock and assembled loads prior to loading and despatch
  • Working in a physically demanding environment
  • A range of duties to support the operational efficiency and general housekeeping and hygiene standards of the warehouse and the site

Skills/Experience:

  • Previous warehouse experience is desired but not essential
  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • Ability to count accurately to enable the correct picking of stock
  • Have appropriate hand, eye and foot coordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment safely
  • Able to work to a high standard of accuracy whilst maintaining quality
