Role Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our new Morrisons contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced and exciting new contract. The role will predominately be based at our Wakefield site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of site sales ledger
  • Resolution of site sales ledger queries
  • Monitor and resolve outstanding sales ledger debt
  • Collation of data for production of site Key Performance Indicators
  • Collation of data for production of weekly site P&L’s
  • Maintain accurately - financial non-financial data
  • Raise purchase orders for suppliers
  • Post journals into the financial system
  • Provide accurate data to strict weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Stats information collation from operational areas
  • Generating system reports for use in financial analysis
  • Assist in the process of payroll checking, authorising, re checking
  • Provide support to other members of the finance team
  • Ad hoc work as required

The Person:

  • Enthusiastic, reliable and highly organised
  • Ability to deliver a high performance within a small finance team
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with problems and challenges
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude
  • Flexible and motivated to be able to work under pressure and the ability to meet time critical targets
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, with high emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative and work within tight deadlines
  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above
  • Studying towards an Accounting qualification an advantage

Hours of work mainly Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, although a degree of flexibility is required.
